In a dramatic political twist, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has expelled his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party and disowned him from the family for six years. This major decision came shortly after a Facebook post — allegedly from Tej Pratap’s verified account — went viral showing him with a woman referred to as his “girlfriend” or “partner.”
Lalu Yadav’s Firm Statement
Reacting to the controversy, Lalu Yadav took to social media platform X to express deep disappointment with his son’s public conduct. He said:
“The activities, public behavior, and irresponsible actions of my eldest son are not in line with our family’s values and traditions.”
He further emphasized that ignoring moral standards in personal life could weaken their collective fight for social justice, a cause the family has long stood for.
“In light of recent events, I am removing him from the party and the family. From now on, he will have no role or responsibility in either,” Lalu added.
He stated that anyone who wishes to remain connected with Tej Pratap must do so using their own judgment.
Viral Post and Hacking Claim
The controversy began when Tej Pratap Yadav’s Facebook account shared a picture of him with a woman, allegedly Anushka Yadav, along with a caption suggesting they had been in a relationship for 12 years. The post sparked widespread attention, especially since Tej Pratap had previously married Aishwarya Rai, the granddaughter of ex-Bihar CM Daroga Rai, in 2018. That marriage ended in a public fallout, with serious allegations from Aishwarya.
Soon after the post went viral, Tej Pratap claimed that his Facebook account was hacked. On X, he wrote:
“My social media platform was hacked and my photographs were wrongfully edited. There’s a deliberate attempt to defame and harass me and my family.”
Despite the claims, there is no confirmation yet about whether Tej Pratap has filed an official police complaint regarding the hacking.
Political Impact and Public Reaction
This incident marks a serious rupture within Bihar’s most well-known political family. While Tejashwi Yadav continues to lead RJD’s political charge, the expulsion of his elder brother by their own father could have long-term political and personal implications.
Public and political circles are closely watching how this family dispute will unfold — especially as elections approach and the political landscape of Bihar remains highly dynamic.
