India is witnessing a fresh rise in Covid-19 infections as active cases climb to 3,758 nationwide. Leading the tally is Kerala, which currently reports 1,400 active cases, followed by Maharashtra with 506 active infections, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
In the past 24 hours alone, 360 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed. Kerala added 64 fresh cases, Maharashtra 18, and Delhi reported 61 new infections, signaling a growing concern across these states.
Sadly, two deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded in the same period — one each in Kerala and Karnataka. The Karnataka fatality involved a 63-year-old man with pre-existing health issues, including pulmonary tuberculosis and cancer, who was incidentally found Covid-positive. In Kerala, a 24-year-old woman suffering from multiple health complications, including sepsis and chronic liver disease, succumbed to the virus.
